Rising Star asks fans to support the game to ensure it's released.

Deadly Premonition follows FBI special agent Francis York Morgan as he investigates the murder of a young woman in the town of Greenvale.

"It's true that Rising Star Games has published a few PC games in the past but, since this is our first release on Steam, we wanted to make it a big one and bring you something special!" wrote Rising Star. I didn't know much about it, other than some people seemed to think it was unique, and worth playing in spite of its flaws. Then a few weeks ago, I spotted a used copy at Gamestop, and decided to bite. As I put the case on the counter, the clerk asked me if I had played the game before. When I said I hadn't, he gave me a friendly warning which went something like this: "The graphics are bad, the controls are horrible, and the gameplay kind of sucks..., but the story is phenomenal." It lacks the polish and big budget hallmarks of most modern classics, but makes up for it with sheer heart and one of the most gratifying and enjoyable game worlds out there. Gamers who prize the experience over the technical competency of a game will get an unbelievable amount of satisfaction from such an unusual title.
